Fibrotek Advanced Materials, established in 2000, is a vertically integrated Canadian manufacturer engaged in the engineering and manufacturing of tooling and composite parts for the aerospace, automotive and drone industries serving the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Aerospace and electric vehicle technology is increasingly turning to composite materials for their low weight, high strength and durability, and low electrical conductivity. Our capabilities also include five engineers specializing in project management, 140 workshop staff, two chemists with doctorates on staff specializing in composite R&D and two program managers. Using our knowledge and expertise in manufacturing complex aerospace tooling, parts and various assemblies, components and accessories has enabled us to become a preferred supplier and partner with many OEMs and Tier 1 companies in the world. Fibrotek Advanced Materials specializes in the resin infusion process having manufactured many molds of different sizes. We also offer Prepreg tooling and parts according to our customers' specifications. With the opening of our sister company NRG (Northern Reinforcements Group) which now manufactures dry carbon fiber materials for Fibrotek. Composite parts are formed in molds, also called tools. Tools can be made from many different types of materials. For parts that will be produced in small quantities and can be cured at room temperature or low temperature, or for prototype parts, where strict control of dimensional accuracy is not essential, materials such as fiberglass, high density foams, machinable epoxy panels or even clay or wood / plaster models are often suitable.


Fibrotek Advanced Materials manufactures premium quality composite molds from the initial design phase through manufacturing and delivery. For many leaders in the aerospace and automotive industry, carbon fiber parts range from interiors and visible surface parts to structural components, all of which Fibrotek has extensive design and manufacturing knowledge and experience. .

Only high quality, low shrinkage materials are used. Fibrotek also designs and manufactures product display models for demonstration purposes. Our detailed prototype modeling provides a high level of detail and precision. Based on the customer's specifications and budget, Fibrotek offers a wide range of diverse materials to manufacture our customers' prototypes before investing in more expensive, long-term production tools. Each composite part, post-molding, requires some sort of finishing, ranging from drilling holes to trimming excess material. Milling, cutting and drilling accessories must be large and very robust to enable milling operations; strong clamps are also needed. Fibrotek offers hydraulic or pneumatic grippers for high volume automated processes. Care is needed because composites behave differently from metals when drilled and cut. Their stacked laminate construction makes them susceptible to delamination, breakage and tearing of fibers, especially if cutting tools are worn or dull.

Fibrotek Advanced Materials manufactures premium quality aerospace tools and parts from initial design through manufacturing and delivery. Fibroteks composite parts are made using autoclave or oven prepreg materials or wet materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, graphite, Kevlar and other aramid polymers. The Fibrotek's 10 X 20 Composite Autoclave is a high pressure vessel used in the manufacture of composites requiring high pressure and heat. Through our production facility, we can produce aerospace tools and aerospace parts and components that are designed and require complex geometry and shapes. Resin systems include epoxy, polyester, and phenol. Fibroteks' Aerospace Quality Management System is ISO9001: 2020 / AS9100D certified.


Composite materials are particularly attractive for aviation and aerospace applications due to their exceptional strength / stiffness / density ratios and superior physical properties. Composite material typically consists of relatively strong and stiff fibers in a tough resin matrix. Many types of reinforcing materials are available for use in airplanes. Three types are most often used to build custom airplanes. These are fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar. Fiberglass or fiberglass is the most widely used reinforcing material.

Fibrotek offers a range of metrology solutions at all stages of product lifecycle management with the use of HandyScan 3D, a portable metrology-grade 3D scanner. Whether its quality control, tooling validation, inspection of parts, or reverse engineering; this ultra-fast handheld 3D scanner is capable of quickly delivering accurate and high-resolution 3D scans with complex surfaces and under any environmental condition. It offers accuracy up to 0.030 mm (0.0012 in.) and a maximum resolution of 0.050 mm (0.0020 in.). Its top acquisition rate is 480,000 measurements/s.

Used in conjunction with a post-treatment software, the 3D scan data can be finalized and exported as a readable 3D file for inspection, 3D printing, and CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
